About Us

Avalon Home started in 2023 with a purpose- to celebrate the joy of hosting by bringing the best of British design and manufacturing into your home.

Founded by Samantha Johnson, former Commercial Head at Hobbycraft, and her husband Oliver, a Naval Officer, they named the company after Avalon, the mythical British island where Excalibur was made and King Arthur went to rest and heal. The name encapsulated what they wanted the company to be about- making a home your sanctuary, celebrating British design, and protecting British manufacturing and the communities and heritage connected to it.

Based in the ancient city of Chester, we craft our unique patterns in-house, taking inspiration from nature and history, while blending it into a modern look. After our collections have been exactingly curated and refined, we manufacture entirely in the UK, supporting our fantastic Northern industries, our independent businesses and our accomplished creatives- keeping our communities together, our manufacturing ethical, and our carbon footprint low.
